DOUBLE SUCCESS FOR HOPKINS HOMES
Hopkins Homes, East Anglia’s largest independent house builder achieved double success at the national What House? Awards 2009 in London
The Suffolk based company were awarded bronze for Best Renovation for their refurbishment of the former Melton Grange Hotel, now known as ‘The Grange’ in Woodbridge, Suffolk and bronze for Best Medium House builder for the second consecutive year running.
James Hopkins, Executive Chairman of Hopkins Homes said: “We are absolutely thrilled, the What House? Awards are the industry’s most prestigious and widely recognised award in Britain and to win two is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the commitment that everyone at Hopkins Homes has to achieving the very highest of standards in everything we do”.
In the judge’s report for Best Medium House builder, they commented: “The company has been taking part in and winning What House? Awards for many years; all done with sophistication and elegance. “It does period style properties in East Anglia market towns and Suffolk villages with real class.”
The judges also had praise for the conversion of ‘The Grange’ commenting: “The company has created spacious and interesting layouts in the old building while retaining its original form and rejuvenating a well loved local landmark. “Externally the use of lime mortar for repointing and natural slate for the roofs is to be commended.”
