 Befriending Service

Halesworth Volunteer Centre's befriender service sees volunteers make home visits to local residents. Befrienders can help with a range of tasks such as making appointments or helping to fill in forms but the most important part of their work is sitting down for a cup of tea and a chat.

Centre manager Emma Healey said: "Support fro the Hopkins Homes Fund has made a big impact on us, allowing us to both attend and deliver specialist dementia training to our volunteers. This has enabled us to expand this element of the work we do."

James Hopkins, executive chairman of Hopkins Homes, visited Halesworth Volunteer Centre to learn more about the essential community support work done and was delighted the grant would make such a difference.
