Hopkins Homes breaks ground at Beaulieu
Hopkins Homes, celebrates an exciting milestone with the beginning of construction at Beaulieu in Chelmsford.
This follows the recent approval by the local planning authority for 246 new homes at the 16-acre site. Notably, this will be the developer’s first major timber frame project, marking a significant step-change in their construction approach.
The development promises a diverse range of properties, catering to all buyer needs from one-bedroom apartments through to five-bedroom detached houses. Nearly a third will be designated as essential affordable housing, through shared ownership and social rented schemes.
Six Directors from Hopkins Homes gathered on site to meet the project team and to celebrate the commencement of work, highlighting the importance of this project.
“We’re thrilled to begin construction at Beaulieu,” said Jamie Howe, Construction Director at Hopkins Homes. “Our reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, care, and social responsibility has positioned us as a leading regional developer, and we are excited to be bringing this same approach to our new development at Beaulieu.”
The homes at Beaulieu will boast a visually appealing design, featuring a combination of warm red and buff bricks contrasted with sleek black weatherboarding. Lush greenery will enhance the development with ornamental shrubs, native trees, and hedgerows. Estate railings and balconies add a touch of elegance, while a small, vibrant local retail centre caters to residents’ daily needs.
Beaulieu is well setup for city commuters, with Chelmsford station just three miles away. The synchronised bus timetable ensures quick access to London Liverpool Street within an hour, while the upcoming Beaulieu train station will offer direct links into London.
Construction is now underway, with a show home opening in early 2025 and the first homes expected to be completed by Spring 2025.
